Latest Updates from Our Project:

New, fun offer: two weeks only!
over 3 years ago – Fri, Nov 06, 2020 at 12:00:44 PM

We are so close to the release of the new, new, new Icarus! Thank you again for all of your support. If you’d like to see Books 2 and 3 of this campaign, the best thing you can do is to spread the word about Book 1. The more readers and review it has, the more likely we’ll be able to crowdfund the second book.

For now, we have a big surprise that we hope you’ll like. (And your support means so much right now!) Four Midwest US presses have partnered to offer the Midwest Spec-Fic Book Box. We hope you’ll check it out; these are super books. Big names, Big adventures, big Midwest love. Keep some; give some, and don’t miss the special coupons, swag, and surprises.

And letting people know about this offer helps a lot! Here’s the link to check out and share:

The Box will only be available for order through 20 November. Also, we love our Canadian neighbors and our readers and supporters around the world—but this box only ships in the Contiguous United States. It’s a big box!

We have more announcements on the way – and we won’t normally post these to Kickstarter. We’d love for you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or join our email list at atthisarts.com.

We are sending all of you our warmest wishes. Thanks for supporting indie fiction!

Limited-Edition Hardcovers with Art (Spoiler: Photo Ahead!)
over 3 years ago – Wed, Oct 28, 2020 at 07:11:38 PM

The limited editions are finally done (yea!) and will be shipped out this week. If you ordered one of the special editions with the custom artwork, here is a preview of your copy:

Free books this week:

If you'd like something to read while waiting for your hardcover to arrive, Atthis Arts has made two of its titles completely FREE on Kindle through Friday (if you know Emily and have heard her talk about small businesses and culturally valuing art, we almost never do this! - but we also know it's a hard time for all of us, and maybe this will get these fun stories out to more people and provide some needed joy).

The first is a paranormal thriller, a modern-day ghost story about a doctor in Kansas City with the power to banish ghosts, who is drawn into a 3000-year-old feud: When They Come Calling by Sarah Fleming Mountford

The second is a high-fantasy battle between a young woman and a Wraith King, written for middle-grade readers as well as for anyone who enjoys early young-adult fantasy or fantasy without less graphic content. With an adult-fantasy feel, it would make a great introduction to fantasy to a younger reader ready to tackle full-length novels: Descent of Shadows by Ryanne Glenn.

Another note that's relevant on Ryanne's story in these hard days: The author has been open about her struggles with depression, and while the books are enjoyed without reading into these themes, Anna’s story provides the light of hope for readers who may themselves struggle with their own wraiths. It reminds us that together, we are strong, and that there is no magic like our kindness.

There are more announcements to come soon, including one I think many of you will like! If you'd like the latest, please make sure to follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, MeWe, or Twitter. (You can also follow Emily on Facebook, MeWe, Twitter, Instagram, or Patreon.)

Thanks - Chris

Important New Project Launches Today!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Oct 05, 2020 at 11:14:10 PM

First - some quick Icarus News: I just got word that the hardcover binding is done. I know this has taken way too long, but hey, it's 2020 (we still need time for shipments, signatures, etc). Also, we'll be posting an important update to the retail release plan in the coming days. Stay tuned!

Ok, now for the purpose of this update.

Thanks, Chris.

We are asking for your help with an important project.

In This Moment is a collection of fiction and nonfiction documenting the art and expression of the 2020 uprising, both for the emotions of today, and for the education and study of tomorrow. It is edited by Indianapolis Afrofuturist Maurice Broaddus, and we are incredibly excited about the contributors signing on for this project. We hope you will be too.

We feel the responsibility of being trusted with this project. But it will only happen if we fund, and for that we will need your help. Please, give this campaign a look – and anything you can do to spread the word would be very appreciated. We know it’s a busy and important time, but that’s also the point. Thank you for your support!

Pledges start at a dollar, and all spreading the word helps a ton. Here's the link:
